Directions & Arrival Information
How do I reach the hotel by public transport?
The nearest train station is in Pörtschach am Wörthersee. From March 2026, the Westbahn operates five daily trains from Vienna to Villach, stopping in Pörtschach. Guests are collected free of charge from Pörtschach or Velden stations.
How do I reach Carinthia by plane?
Schloss Seefels is conveniently accessible via several airports:
- Klagenfurt (KLU): approx. 20 minutes by car
- Ljubljana (LJU): approx. 1 hour by car
- Venice Marco Polo (VCE): approx. 2.5 hours by car
- Vienna (VIE): approx. 3.5 hours by car
Private chauffeur service can be arranged for an additional fee.
Can airport or train transfers be arranged?
Transfers from Pörtschach or Velden stations are complimentary. Transfers from airports or other stations can be arranged upon request for an additional fee. Our reception team will be happy to organize this for you.
Essential Information
Are pets allowed at the hotel?
We kindly ask for your understanding that pets are not permitted. Guests arriving with pets cannot be accommodated, and the applicable cancellation fees will apply according to the booking confirmation.
Is there a garage at Schloss Seefels?
A parking garage is available for our guests. As spaces are limited, we recommend reserving in advance. The garage fee is EUR 25 per day. Complimentary outdoor parking is also available for those who do not require a garage space.
Which languages does the hotel staff speak?
German and English are the primary languages spoken by our service and reception teams. Our international staff also speaks Italian, French, Croatian, Serbo-Croatian, Romanian, and Portuguese, allowing us to provide a personalized and seamless experience for guests from around the world.
Are e-charging stations available? What is the cost?
Charging stations for electric vehicles are available on-site. Access is provided via a charging card available at reception. Charges are based on consumption; the current rate is EUR 0.85 per kWh.
Can vouchers be purchased online or on-site?
Vouchers for Schloss Seefels and its restaurants can be purchased online or on-site – perfect for gifts and special occasions.
Is it possible to moor my boat at the marina?
The marina at Schloss Seefels offers berths for boats. You are welcome to reserve a spot for the duration of your stay for an additional fee. We recommend booking in advance, as spaces are limited. The cost is EUR 85 per day.
What is the dress code?
During the day, casual chic attire is recommended. In the evening, elegant clothing is requested, particularly in the restaurants, bar, and for formal occasions.
Check-in & Check-out
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Your room or suite is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. We kindly ask guests to check out by 12:00 PM on the day of departure.
Is early check-in or late check-out possible?
Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged upon request, subject to availability and an additional fee, to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Which credit cards are accepted for guarantee and payment?
To guarantee your reservation, Schloss Seefels accepts Visa and Mastercard. For on-site payment, all major international credit cards are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners Club. Maestro/EC cards are also gladly accepted. Of course, you may also settle your stay in cash (EUR) or conveniently via bank transfer.
Facilities & Booking
Are extra beds or cots available?
Comfortable cots for infants are available on request.
Additional beds for children or extra guests can be arranged depending on availability and may incur a surcharge.
We recommend notifying us of your bed requirements at the time of booking so everything can be perfectly prepared.
Is the hotel suitable for children?
Families are warmly welcome. Children can stay in suites from Junior Suite size, enjoy the Kids’ Club, beach activities (wakesurf, wakeboard, inflatables, SUP, waterski, monoski), and tennis/padel courts.
Is Schloss Seefels wheelchair accessible?
Our public areas, including restaurants, bar, spa, and beach, are accessible.
Guest rooms and certain Spa facilities are not fully wheelchair accessible.
We kindly ask guests with special mobility requirements to contact reception so we can provide tailored assistance.
Is the Wörthersee Plus Card available?
Guests of Schloss Seefels receive the Wörthersee Plus Card directly at reception. With this card, you can enjoy numerous exclusive benefits and discounts in the region – from excursions and museums to leisure activities – for a fully relaxed stay at Lake Wörthersee.
Is it possible to book a half-board stay, and what is the cost?
Schloss Seefels does not offer a half-board arrangement. Guests may, however, order the exquisite 4-course daily menu at the La Terrasse restaurant for EUR 85 per person.
Are ironing facilities available in the room?
For fire safety reasons, irons are not provided in guest rooms. Our housekeeping team is, of course, happy to ensure that your wardrobe is impeccably prepared. Upon request, professional ironing service is available so that you can always appear stylish and polished.

How much does breakfast cost?
The à-la-carte castle breakfast is included in your room rate and is served daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
External guests not staying at Schloss Seefels can enjoy this exclusive breakfast experience for EUR 60 per person. Choose from over 100 carefully selected breakfast specialties à la carte, all freshly prepared in the castle kitchen and elegantly served at your table.

Are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options available?
At La Terrasse and the Porto Bello Bar & Lounge, we place the utmost importance on regional and seasonal cuisine that meets our guests’ expectations. In addition to modern interpretations of Alpe-Adria cuisine, our culinary offerings include vegetarian dishes, carefully prepared from fresh, high-quality ingredients.
On request, our culinary team also prepares gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan dishes, accommodating individual preferences and dietary needs. We kindly ask that guests share any special dietary requirements at the time of booking so that we can tailor your culinary experience.
Can non-hotel guests dine at the restaurants?
Yes, guests not staying at Schloss Seefels are warmly invited to enjoy our cuisine at La Terrasse and the Porto Bello & Lounge. A table reservation is recommended to ensure availability.
Is a table reservation required?
We recommend reserving a table to ensure that your visit is perfectly arranged, especially at the Porto Bello & Lounge during peak season.
• Is it possible to reach Porto Bello by boat?
Porto Bello is conveniently accessible by boat. During your visit, parking for your boat is available at the Seefels Marina.
Can hotel guests visit the restaurants in a bathrobe?
To ensure a stylish and comfortable experience at Schloss Seefels, we kindly ask guests to wear appropriate attire in the restaurants. Bathrobes are reserved exclusively for the spa and beach areas.
Can I simply enjoy a coffee at the hotel?
Absolutely. Guests who wish to enjoy a cup of coffee or a fine beverage are warmly welcome at Schloss Seefels.

What water sports are offered at Schloss Seefels?
From Seefels beach, guests can enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and fun on inflatables. For a more relaxed experience, try SUP, pedal boats, or kayaking, or take in the scenery on boat tours and transfers. All activities can be booked at the beach or via reception.
Can bicycles or e-bikes be rented?
Our guests enjoy complimentary access to bicycles and e-bikes, available directly on-site. Explore the idyllic surroundings of Lake Wörthersee along well-maintained cycling paths and let our insider tips inspire your excursions. Bike rental is part of our guest services and is therefore free of charge.
- Lake Wörthersee Circuit – approximately 60 km around the lake, offering breathtaking views and numerous charming stops.
- Three-Lakes Tour – connects Lake Wörthersee, Lake Ossiach, and Lake Faak for a varied and scenic day trip.
- Castle Bike Tour – follows the gentle Sattnitz and Glan cycle paths to magnificent Renaissance castles such as Schloss Mageregg, Schloss Ehrenhausen, Schloss Seltenheim, and Schloss Hallegg. Ideal for families with children aged 10 and above, this route combines culture, history, and tranquil natural experiences."

Several first-class 18-hole golf courses are within easy reach, including Kärntner Golfclub Dellach, Golfanlage Moosburg-Pörtschach, Golfclub Klagenfurt-Seltenheim, Golfanlage Velden-Köstenberg, Golfclub Schloss Finkenstein, and Jacques Lemans Golfclub St. Veit-Längsee. Our reception team can assist with tee times and green fee arrangements.

Around Schloss Seefels, a diverse network of carefully marked hiking trails and 'Slow Trails' invites you to leisurely discoveries amidst the natural beauty of Carinthia. From serene lakeside and forest walks to inspiring themed paths, such as the Brahms Trail in Pörtschach or the Yoga Trail in Velden, and panoramic high-altitude routes like the hike on Hoher Galin in the municipality of Techelsberg, offering breathtaking views over Lake Wörthersee.
A particularly recommended route is the Forstsee Circuit, part of the approximately 55 km Lake Wörthersee Round Trail. Additionally, the Nock Mountains, the Karawanks, and the Carnic Alps offer beautiful and more challenging hikes, rewarding visitors with expansive vistas and alpine diversity."

Can the padel and tennis courts be booked without a hotel stay?
Yes, non-hotel guests are also welcome to use our tennis and padel courts. We recommend booking in advance at +43 4272 2377, as our courts are in high demand.
For hotel guests' the use of the courts is included in the Seefels pampering gurantee.
Court rental rates:
- Tennis court: €32 per hour
- Padel court: €55 per hour
Please note: there are no changing facilities available for external guests.
Can I walk to Pörtschach along the lake?
From Schloss Seefels, Pörtschach on Lake Wörthersee can be reached on foot in approximately 30 to 40 minutes. The route initially follows the main road before leading onto the picturesque lakeside promenade.
Spa, Wellness & Beach
Is a day spa available?
The luxurious spa at Schloss Seefels is one of Austria’s most exclusive wellness retreats. To ensure maximum tranquility, privacy, and individual attention, the spa is reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
From what age is the spa accessible?
The exclusive spa and wellness area at Schloss Seefels is open to guests aged 16 and over, ensuring a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The spa is a textile-free area. Younger guests may enjoy the heated outdoor pool.
Can spa treatments be booked by non-hotel guests?
The spa and wellness area, including massages and beauty treatments, is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. External day guests cannot access the spa, ensuring privacy, tranquility, and a luxurious environment for our guests.
